I’m so proud of our franchisees who were finalists in this year’s Franchise Council of Australia Excellence in Franchising Awards. While none were winners outright, all were a shining example of how great a business backed by passion, commitment and hard work can be.
Annette Gabriele was nominated for the Single Unit Franchisee category. She and her family purchased La Porchetta Ivanhoe just over two years ago and their motto is “seat, meet and greet.” They have built their business by caring for their customers and providing a warm and welcoming dining experience.
Stephen Montebello and Jason Krainski own two La Porchetta restaurants on the Mornington Peninsula, Rosebud and Hastings and they were finalists in the Multi Unit Franchisee category. They’ve been friends since they played footy together as children and business partners for over a decade. They are great contributors to our brand, sharing their long experience to help us continually improve.
Eric Nania was also a finalist in the Multi Unit Franchisee category. He is the nephew of one of our founders, Felice Nania and he grew up with La Porchetta, having made his first pizza when he was just seven years old. When it came to making a career choice, he trained as a waiter, so it was a natural progression for him to become a La Porchetta franchisee and he now owns our Sydenham, Mill Park and Doreen restaurants.
While none won outright in their category, the process of submitting into the awards gave them all a chance to reflect on the success of the business they have built. Well done to you all! Your success reflects not just on your business, but on our brand as well.
